Chiropractic care offers an alternative, non-invasive treatment option for various conditions for people of all ages. Chiropractic care is used most often to treat neuromusculoskeletal complaints, including but not limited to back pain, neck pain, joint discomfort of the arms or legs, and headaches.
Prior to beginning treatment, Dr. Friedman will examine each patient in order to gain an authentic diagnosis of his or her current condition. The most common therapeutic procedure performed by chiropractors is known as “spinal manipulation,” also called “chiropractic adjustment.” The purpose of manipulation is to restore joint mobility by manually applying controlled force into joints that have become hypomobile. Manipulation, or adjustment of the affected joint and tissues, restores mobility, thereby alleviating pain and muscle tightness, and allowing tissues to heal.
Once Dr. Friedman evaluates the patient he will sit down and design a tailored treatment plan special to their individual needs. Depending on the condition, chiropractic care may be the primary treatment option or it may be used in conjunction with other medical treatment. Chiropractors are broadly trained and take into account the whole person, which means they can provide counseling and recommendations to patients for related health issues such as dietary considerations and therapeutic exercises.
